Service Description

Clay 101: Beginner Basics Ready to dive into clay? Clay 101 is the ultimate intro for beginners looking to learn the fundamentals of ceramics in a fun, welcoming, and supportive studio environment. Whether you’re totally new or just want a refresher, this 8-week course will teach you everything you need to start creating functional, beautiful pottery — and loving the process! Each class builds on the last, and we’ll guide you through it all — from your very first pinch of clay to your final glazed piece (and everything in between)! ✨ Weekly Curriculum Week 1: Studio introductions, tour, and intro to clay Week 2: Cylinder Boot Camp Week 3: Throwing bowls Week 4: Trimming + first glazing session Weeks 5–6: Personal project time (choose what you want to make!) Week 7: Final glazing Week 8: Celebration and studio showcase! 🎉 💫 What’s included: All clay, tools, glaze, and firing for class projects Personal shelf space for your work-in-progress A vibrant community of fellow makers and creative support Additional clay can be purchased through the studio only — pricing includes clay, glaze, and firings Please note: – If you miss a class, all 101 classes follow the same curriculum! So you’re welcome to attend another Clay 101 class that same week to stay caught up! – Outside clay is not permitted in the studio. Come play, explore, and discover your creative spark — Clay 101 is where it all begins! 🎨


Cancellation Policy

1. Registration and Payment Pre-registration Required: Register online or in person before the class starts. Spots are first-come, first-served. Payment: The total course fee is $650, split into two payments: a $325 non-refundable deposit at registration and the remaining $325 charged at the start of the course. Refunds: No refunds will be issued within 72 hours of the first class. 2. Materials Clay, glazes, and firings for class curriculum projects are provided. Additional clay is available for purchase. Clay Bodies & Glazes: We provide midrange white clay bodies (with/without grog) and a variety of underglazes and studio dipping glazes. Clay must be bought through the studio only. Shelf Space: Each student is allotted approximately 2'x2' space within their class’s shelving unit for work-in-progress. Items left after the last class will be removed. 3. Cancellations By Participant: Refunds are available for cancellations made more than 72 hours before the first class, but only for the second payment. By Studio: If the studio cancels a class, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another session. 4. Studio Policies Respect: Respect each other, your neighbors, and the studio. Clean your workspace, follow guidance, handle materials responsibly and leave the studio cleaner than you found it. Health & Safety: Closed-toe shoes, tied-back hair, and the removal of jewelry are required. Behavior: Disruptive behavior may result in removal from the class without a refund. 5. Student Enrollment Enrollment includes access to open studio time on Sundays from 12 PM–2 PM for make-up classes or extra practice alongside the other 8-week classes being offered. 6. Perks and Next Steps When memberships open, completion of at least 2 series of our 8-week classes will be a prerequisite for consideration. This ensures that you are familiar with our studio processes before applying for membership. 7. Projects are completed and ready for pickup during the 8th class, which includes a class celebration, critique, clean up/clean-out, and an introduction to the next steps for continuing your ceramics journey. 8. Photography and Recordings By participating in our classes, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded during your time in the studio. These materials may be used for marketing, educational purposes, social media, and promotional activities.
